  • Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled is supposed to have every character from CTR and CNK. It lives up to the CTR side with all the eight regulars, the bosses including Oxide and the three secret characters Fake Crash, N. Tropy and Penta Penguin. The game has the playable roster of the console versions of CNK, plus the four world bosses with Norm split into two characters. And Spyro is coming in a Grand Prix. But someone from CNK is missing: We have Real Velo which is the small Velo that was Team Oxide's fourth member, but his Fake robotic counterpart that was the final boss of CNK and was playable in the GBA version. So why isn't Fake Velo in the Nitro-Fueled roster? Why are we stuck with his spoiler real form?

    • I bet thet in a future Grand Prix we'll finally get Fake Velo along side Komodo Moe, Dr. N. Brio and Rilla Roo as they were supposed to be playable in CNK but were ultimately scrapped.

      Nina was also gonna be playable too but they're likely gonna save her for the upcoming CTTR Grand Prix along side Pasadena and Von Clutch.

      I'm pretty confident on what two of the unanounced GP's might be:

      Velo's Revenge - Fake/Emperor Velo, Rilla Roo, Komodo Moe, Dr. N Brio

      Crash Tag Team Racing - Pasadena O'Possum, Ebenezer Von Clutch, Nina Cortex and maybe Willie Wampa Cheeks

      As for the third one I have a few ideas what it might be but we'll just have to wait and see. It's probably one with Yaya and Koala Kong.

    • If Velo is coming in a Grand Prix, I hope he comes with his Champion Kart, you know the karts the bosses drove in CNK. Because I don't have the right kart for the CNK bosses.

    • I agree, they should also bring back the Velo Mask cause I don't think Uka Uka fits with N. Oxide, Zam, Zem, Krunk, Nash, both Norms, Geary and Velo. After all those characters are either neutual or are enemies of both sides, specifically - Oxide and Velo being the latter.

    • I'm fine with the aliens having Uka Uka. Uka doesn't get along with Cortex either, but he's still Cortex's mask in every game. In fact, I prefer Uka Uka to be the mask of all villains instead of an anti-hero team. Anyway, I also wish they'd put a Crash Nitro Kart campaign in the Adventure Mode. If they did that, they probably could have had us unlock Fake Velo after beating him for the first time and Real Velo after getting 100%. And instead of having "Crash Nitro Kart" as the track's category, we can have "Planet Terra," "Planet Barin," "Planet Fenomena" and "Planet Teknee." And the CNK characters should be unlocked by playing the Nitro Kart Adventure with the bosses unlocked obviously by beating them in their boss races, and Crunch, Zem, N. Trance and Zam should be unlocked by beating the CNK Gem Cups. And the characters bought at the Pit Stop should include characters that are not in our game, like Nina Cortex, Pasadena O'Possum, Ebeneezer von Clutch, Willie Wumpa Cheeks, Yaya Panda, Chick Gizzard Lips, Stew, Koala Kong, Doctor Nitrus Brio, Komodo Moe, Rilla Roo, Rusty Walrus, Madame Amberly and the maybe scrapped character Fasty.

      In the original video announcing the Grand Prix, I think I remember him saying it would go on for a year.  But maybe there will only be 6 months, and then they'll cycle back through the same 6 for those who didn't play and/or complete it the first time.

      I'm confident we will see, at the very least, Komodo Moe, N. Brio, and Koala Kong in future events.  They were careful to mention Moe in the epilogue and place a picture of N. Brio in Cortex Castle (although it's worth noting that the beakers were called N. Brio beakers in the original CTR which was strange since Brio wasn't in the game).  And they wouldn't leave Koala Kong as the only trilogy character left out.

      I'd actually like to see Road Crash from Warped included as a CTRNF race track in a future Grand Prix.  The motorcycle levels are memorable to Crash fans, and it would be awesome to be able to play full CTR style racing (including multiplayer) on one of those courses.  I mention Road Crash over the others since it already is a complete loop and thus can be turned into a lap race with no changes.  The length of taking a track designed for 1 lap and making it 3 laps may appear to be an issue.  But if Electron Avenue isn't too long, then 3-lap Road Crash shouldn't be either.

      If there will be a Crash Bash remake, then the final Grand Prix could be the one that includes Brio, Koala Kong, Rilla Roo, Komodo Moe, and the Bearminator (if he can fit into a kart?) to coincide with the announcement?

      Yes, those too.  I never said there were any specific characters I think we won't see.  I only listed Komodo Moe, Koala Kong, and N. Brio as ones I think we will see.  Sorry for the confusion.

    • Anything is possible, except the elemental masks (which I personally think should've been the alternate skins of Crunch).  Though it's basically been restricted to the racing games thus far, Beenox has certainly had no issues with including characters/content that had only previously been in one not-so-popular game.  Even the Warthog is possible despite not being considered a character by most nor given an official name.  Polar wasn't considered a character either in Crash 2's manual, and wasn't given his official name until the original CTR.

    • I just came across this.  It confirms Koala Kong, N. Brio, Komodo Moe, and presumably Fake Velo in the game data.  But more interesting, there is a King Chicken that will appear as well.  No character that has appeared thus far in either the Crash nor Spyro series is named King Chicken.

    • That Velo is just Real Velo. He's just named Velo in the game files.

      What's odd is that there's no mention of Baby-T, Tawna, the baby characters, the Tag Team Racing characters, and the Spyro characters.

      We don't see all the lines of code there.  Look at the line numbers: there are 87-94, 13-21, 334-337, and 369-381 (and those on the right side may be from a different file entirely than those on the left side).

    • A theory I heard is that Grand Prix characters aren't supposed to be in the files. If they're in the files, it means that the characters were in the game at some point, before being moved to the Grand Prix.

      You can see both "Velo" and "Real Velo" on two separate lines, so maybe just plain "Velo" could be referring to the Fake Velo that was CNK's final boss.

      Yes, but you also see the different skins of Real Velo on their own lines.  So it is unconfirmed if "Velo" is Fake Velo, as the "Real Velo" may be the basic skin called "Real Velo" while "Velo" might be the character "Real Velo".  Or Fake Velo.  We don't know.

      A few things I'd like to see in future Grand Prix tracks:

      1. One more shortcut like the one in Tiger Temple.  I think people have forgotten that is an option.  It really does add a unique aspect that makes an otherwise very simple track more interesting.  Particularly since you have to use weapons in different ways by saving the ones that work.

      2. Stray wumpa fruits.  I like being able to pick up a single wumpa here and there, but for some reason nearly every track only has wumpas inside crates.  Strangely, they are found in every track in The Lost Ruins and Gem Stone Valley, but are in just one other track (Blizzard Bluff).

      3. Activation crates.  They make the track more interesting, and we don't have enough of them because for now they're restricted to CNK tracks.

    • They should have had fake Velo with his Galactic Champion kart as a bundle in the Pit Stop similar to that Fairy Tale bundle with Princess Coco and the Summer Time deal with N. Trance and Beach Dingodile.

      Yeah I know, Koala Kong is one of the characters who were datamined in CTR:NF. I just thought that if Fake Velo were to be added in a future Grand Prix it would kind of make sense to add him along Brio, Moe and Rilla Roo as they were going to be playable in CNK - it says so on the Wiki page for CNK, but for some reason they were given the boot. (also Nina but she'll likely appear in the CTTR GP) Koala Kong is the only missing ND character not mentioned on the CNK Wiki when talking about the unused characters. I just threw him in because 1. he was datamined and 2. so he won't get left out.

    • People are spreading a rumor of a Halloween Grand Prix with Nina and Brio. Maybe Emperor Velo can be in that Grand Prix?

    • Velo really don't seem to fit with any of the datamined leaked characters.

      Each Grand Prix seems it will introduce us 5 new characters each:

      Tawna, Ami, Liz, Megumi, Isabella

      Baby-T, Baby Crash, Baby Coco, Baby Cortex, Baby Tropy

      Spyro, Hunter, Ripto, Gnasty, Sorceress

      Nina, Brio, Kong, Moe, Rilla

      Pasadena, Von Clutch, Willie Wumpa, Chick, Stew

      Velo and King Chicken don't seem to fit anywhere with anyone else. By all accounts, Velo should have been on the base game (alongside Real Velo), so I'm thinking it's possible he'll come by other means (Velo ghosts, CNK Adventure Mode).

    • Take Chick N Stew out because they are NPCs, move Nina from the Halloween GP to the Tag Team Racing GP and replace her spot with Velo and have King Chicken fill out the empty space.

    • Chick and Stew were datamined to be racers as well. And it makes sense since they made the Trophy Girls playable so Chick and Stew deserve it as well.
