Confusion regarding page name[]
The problem with the definition of "Time Trials" in the Crash Bandicoot series is that it changes depending on which game we are talking about. I feel this page does not reflect that. So far:
- In the platforming games, Time Trials are what this page mostly describes. Most crates in the levels are changed, breaking time crates freezes time, you are rewarded a Relic for your performance. Those are necessary to complete a game fully.
- In CTR, CNK and NF, Time Trials are what you -would expect from normal racing games: perform three laps as fast as you can. You are not rewarded any Relics in that mode and they don't count for Adventure Mode progression either.
- Relic Races is what you would call the series' classic Time Trial mode for CTR, CNK and NF, but with some changes. All crates on the tracks (except Activation Crates) are replaced by Time Crates. Break all Time Crates in 3 laps and you get a 10 seconds less bonus on your score. You get rewarded with Relics for your performance, and they are necessary for Adventure Mode completion.
I don't feel cramming all three gameplay types on this page would be a good idea. What I propose is to have three pages:
- Time Trial (Platforming), essentially what is on the current page.
- Time Trial (Racing), what is called Time Trial in the racing games.
- Relic Races, for the racing game mode with Relics as rewards.
Is that proposition fine with the rest of the wiki? Pauolo (talk) 10:50, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
- I support this, same with renaming "Relic" to "Time Relic". Salmonistan (talk) 05:23, 21 February 2021 (UTC)
