"I realize my brethren have had some trouble with you, my little orange friend, but I'm not quite sure why. Hmm, is it getting hot in here? Is it safe to be wearing that fur!? It looks FLAMMABLE!"Py-Ro, Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex
Py-Ro is the Elemental Mask of Fire and the strongest of the Elementals as well as their leader. He can conjure fire from the ground or as a wall and transforms Crunch into a fire form consisting of smoldering rocks with veins of magma.
Py-Ro's debut, and only appearance as of now, was in The Wrath of Cortex along with the other elementals. He has the largest role out of all four of them. He first appears in the game's intro when summoned by Uka Uka. When Aku Aku protests on account of how dangerous the elementals are, Py-Ro jeers at him and orders the other elementals to destroy him, which fails.
Py-Ro later appears as the mask of the third warp area in Coco's VR Hub System, where he threatens and jeers at Crash, Coco and Aku Aku through the vortex. He then properly appears as the boss at the end of said warp area, possessing Crunch and giving him the powers of fire and magma to destroy Crash. Crash uses a Mech Suit to defeat Crunch, Aku Aku sealing Py-Ro away once more with the power of the crystals Crash had collected throughout the journey.
Py-Ro is the leader of the elementals, and the most aggressive of the four. He is described as the strongest and most evil of the elementals in Wrath of Cortex's manual. When perturbed, his temper is known to go off like a volcano, though he is usually oddly calm, if not somewhat insane. He seems to take relish in the opportunity to defeat Crash, with his mind on the goal of having free reign over the Earth once again.
Py-Ro is a rounded, red-orange mask with curved shapes coming off of his face resembling flames. His eyes are a gradient of red to yellow, with a heavy eyebrow ridge and four pale yellow dots in a line across his forehead. He has a large, triangle nose with two white stripes on either side, and a mouth which is always open, bearing yellowed, human-like teeth.
- (laughs) "On the contrary, Aku Aku, it spells disaster for you and the precious planet you care so much about. Destroy him!"
- "Hmm, I have a taste for some deep-fried bandicoot."
- "Hope you brought your sunscreen, cause you're gonna burn!"
- "Ah, the triumphant hero Crash reduced to a pile of smoldering ash."
- "Pyro" is the Greek word for fire. It is commonly used as a prefix in English, used to mean "fire".
