The Projectile Throwing Monkey is an enemy that first appears in Crash Bandicoot Warped.
Crash Bandicoot Warped
They appear in Egyptian levels, such as Sphynxinator. They will throw bombs at Crash, and hide themselves in their Jar at a regular interval. If they succeed to hit Crash, the latter will be burned by it, and the Monkey will be amused by it. The player can break its Jar. If the player does so, the Monkey will act cowardly. To kill them once and for all, the player must jump on them.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
They reappear in the remake, with the same role as before. Instead of doing a cute, happy expression, they have an angry expression, and their skin is brown instead of beige, which is not seen on its belly. Additionally, they are persistent, as they will continue to hide in their Jar, and throw bombs, even if Crash is blown up by one. Unlike previously, the Death animation is changed, as if Crash touched a normal enemy.
- In the N. Sane Trilogy, these enemies hide a secret. If the player destroys all jars except for one and waits for a while, dodging all the thrown projectiles, the monkey will eventually stop throwing them and remain still in its jar. If the player then breaks the jar, the monkey, now gold in colour and glowing, will slowly float upwards and through the ceiling, sitting cross-legged as if meditating. Triggering this easter egg is the key to getting the "Your Moment of Zen" trophy.
