Power Shields are weapons in CTR: Crash Team Racing, Crash Nitro Kart, Crash Nitro Kart 2, Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 3D, and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. They are green spherical barriers that surround the player kart, preventing damage taken from opposing weapons and harmful obstacles. In Crash Team Racing, pushing the 
button will fire the power shield and will cause damage to opponents if hit. A second power-up cannot be deployed in CTR without first firing the power shield away. The green power shield will fade away after a certain amount of time. Juiced up power shields are colored blue and they will last indefinitely until destroyed by an impact.
Power Shields can't be fired in the console ports of Crash Nitro Kart. If the player crashes into an opponent kart with a power shield active (or vice versa), the power shield will be destroyed and the opponent kart will take damage.
In Crash Nitro Kart 2, they are yellow instead of their usual green and are referred to as Protective Bubbles.
In Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 3D, shields appear as clear bubbles. They cannot be fired, but they protect the user from player weapons only instead of track hazards. The juice up mechanic does not exist in this game. A shield lasts about ten seconds.
