The Gold Relic

The Gold Relic is a type of relic in the Crash Bandicoot series that first appeared in Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. Gold relics are the second-best achievement in the Crash Bandicoot games, better than the sapphire relic, but lesser valued than the platinum relic.

In some games, gold relics unlock a secret gem or level, such as the 45th gem in Warped or the Mega-Mix level in Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure, both of which require perfect completion of the game and at least gold relics on every level. In Crash Team Racing, obtaining at least all-gold will earn the player an extra percentage straight away.

In Crash Bash, gold relics are obtained in a very different way. Once the player reaches the fourth warp room, the gold relic challenges are unlocked on all levels in which a trophy has been obtained. To acquire a gold relic, the player must beat the champions of the arena two consecutive times. 17 gold relics are required to unlock Splash Dash and 21 are required to unlock Mallet Mash.
