Crash Bandicoot: On the Run![]
Gnasty Gnorc appears as a limited time boss in On the Run! for Crash or Coco to defeat in Season 3: Battle of the Dragons, having teamed up with Dark Spyro to take over Crash's dimension. His name is sometimes misspelled as "Gnasty Gnork". A Gnasty Gnorc themed skin for Crash was also added.
During his boss fight, he attacks by slamming his staff into the ground to make shock-waves across all three lanes, and by casting large green fireballs that take up two lanes. He has a green force-field around him throughout the battle. He is a bit more difficult to damage than other bosses; the player must throw a Boom Berry that will deflect off of his shield, charging it with magic in the process. Catching the charged berry and throwing it again allows the player to damage Gnasty. Reduce his health bar to zero, then use the Portal Weapons crafted beforehand to send him back to his own dimension.
At the end of the season's story, Dark Spyro was successfully sent back through the portal to the Dragon Realms, but Gnasty Gnorc managed to escape, and is said to still be lurking around the Wumpa Islands.
Other appearances[]
Gnasty Gnorc has a cameo in the sister game of Crash Bandicoot Purple: Ripto's Rampage, Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy as a Trading Card. This card can be traded over to Purple via link cable, making it Gnasty Gnorc's first appearance in the Crash series.
Gnasty Gnorc has a small cameo in Crash Team Rumble, appearing on the Heroic Dragon banner introduced in season 3.
Characteristics[]
Physical description[]
As a Gnorc, Gnasty is a large, green, orc-like creature with two fangs protruding on his lower jaw. He wears golden armor with spikes on the arm pads, and has a Viking helmet. He also wears a belt, which holds up his loincloth, and has knee pads. He wields a large, blue scepter, which has multiple spikes on it.
Personality[]
In the original Spyro the Dragon game, Gnasty Gnorc is described as an unpleasant creature with the short temper of a gnome, and the bad attitude of an orc. He is shown to be self-conscious about his appearance, envies and resents dragons, and especially detests their Gems, as they not only look pretty, but their shiny surfaces show Gnasty his own reflections, reminding him of his unappealing appearance. He takes full offense in being called simpleminded, unthreatening, and especially ugly.
Some of this is reflected back in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, in which he occasionally retorts to racers he passes by saying they are ugly instead, as well proudly proclaiming that he is a threat after all when winning a race. Likewise, upon losing a race, he blames his loss on a dragon.
