Gasmoxia is the home planet of Nitros Oxide, first mentioned in Crash Team Racing but is not seen until Crash Bash. It returns as the final track location in both Crash Nitro Kart 2 and Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 3D (though simply referred to as "Oxide's world"), as well as Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled to serve as the setting for the track Drive-thru Danger.

The planet is dark, green, misty and surrounded by a poisonous atmosphere, small asteroids and a single dark green moon. Not much is known about the planet itself, other than that there are two chains of fast-food restaurant - Toxic Burger and Nuclear Pizza. Only three locations have been seen in the series: a dark, smoggy refinery city, a futuristic carnival-like city, and Drive-thru Danger, a race track and fast food complex suspended in the upper atmospheres, with the lights of civilization seen through the haze far below.

Aside from Oxide, the only other known residents are his henchmen, Zem and Zam, though they are of different species; the former being a troll-like creature and the latter resembling a dinosaur. However, as shown in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, there are other inhabitants that both work for and attend the planet's fast-food outlets. There are also alien birds seen.

Trivia[]

  • According to Oxide in-game, the planet is allegedly somewhere in the Milky Way (of the Crash canon), as Oxide claims he is "the fastest racer in the galaxy." However, in the tie-in comic that can be found on the official Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled website, it says that Gasmoxia is from a distant galaxy and that Oxide is aware of this.
  • Gasmoxia was originally set to be the location of the Bermugula's Orbit world in Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, as seen in its concept art. Remnants of this can be seen in the Japanese localization, with the Japanese name of the level Crash Landed referring to Bermugula as Gasmoxia.
