The Evil Hand is an enemy encountered in the original Crash Bandicoot video game and the N. Sane Trilogy remaster of the first game. It is unknown what kind of creature these hands come from. The only identity of the monster is that its eyes glow and its arm is light colored and stone-textured. In the N. Sane Trilogy, the Evil Hands visibly belong to elderly imprisoned men, whose faces are easily visible behind bars.
It appears that they are in a prison inside Cortex Castle. A simple jump or spin will dispose of these hands easily. The hands only appear in Slippery Climb, and in the removed level, Stormy Ascent. The evil hand in the prototype version of the game looks more ghostly in appearance. It is unknown, but they are probably failed experiments of Cortex, who got sealed away in a prison.
Green variants of the Evil Hands appear again in the Lunatic Laboratory track from Crash Nitro Kart 2, in which they appear to be much larger and come out of big cages on the side of a portion of the track.
