Von Clutch interacting with Crash
Ebeneezer Von Clutch is a cyborg and owner of Von Clutch's MotorWorld. He is a German engineer and a huge fan of racing, car crashes and the Crash Bandicoot franchise (as shown in the second cutscene in Crash Tag Team Racing, which breaks the fourth wall and leaves everyone confused). He summoned everyone to the MotorWorld's main office room when they crash through the gate to help him find his Black Heart Power Gem.
History
Crash, Coco and Crunch helped Von Clutch find his Black Heart Power Gem, the very power source that keeps him alive. It was revealed that Willie Wumpa Cheeks, the MotorWorld mascot, had stolen his gem. Crash defeated Wumpa Cheeks in Astro Land and returned the gem to Von Clutch, but in the end, Crash ended up knocking it back out of his stomach by so he'd stop cheering and shouting, knocking him out. It is unknown what has happened to Von Clutch now as Crash Tag Team Racing was his first and only appearance; though Pasadena most probably put the gem back into Von Clutch.
Appearance
Von Clutch, being a cyborg, has a robotic left leg and and arms, the former controlled by winches. He has a dark green left eye and his right eye is covered by what appears to be red-lensed goggles.
It is often guessed that his cyborg appearance is the result of his many accidents during his racing career.
