The following is a list of missions that appear in Crash: Mind Over Mutant.

Story Missions[]

There are 23 Story Missions, and they are required to progress through the game's story. They must be completed in linear order. While each mission is added to the Mission List by a specific trigger, that trigger is not required to complete the mission.

01. Find Coco's Parts[]

After talking to Coco near the Doominator wreckage, she will instruct Crash to recover the six parts she needs to repair it, starting with the Capacitron near her house. Upon collection of the first part, the mission will appear on the Mission List. The parts can all be found along the path north of the Bandicoot House, with the fifth part being just past N. Gin's Observatory, and the sixth being just before the waterfall leading back to the house. Once the final part is collected, the mission is complete and Crash can talk to Coco again to watch the "N. Faux Mercial" cutscene.

02. Find N. Gin[]

After receiving the NVs in the mail, the Bandicoots are ambushed by some Ratnicians. Upon defeating them, the door blocking the path to the west of the Bandicoot House opens. Going through this path takes Crash through a cliffside, where Aku Aku summons some mock Ratcicles to teach him how to use Heavy Attacks and Counters. Afterwards, a real Ratcicle appears that Crash can jack, allowing him to proceed through some caverns. This path leads back to N. Gin's Observatory, where he is confronted and another horde of Ratnicians are fought. After defeating the Ratnicians and watching the subsequent cutscene, the mission is complete.

03. Save Coco and Crunch[]

This mission starts immediately after the previous one, though it can be attempted as soon as the "N. Trapment" cutscene is triggered. Having seen Coco and Crunch become mutated by the NVs, Crash returns to the Doominator and jumps onto its back. Crunch flees immediately, but Coco sticks around for her boss fight. Crash must deflect the basketballs Coco shoots at him to knock her down before attacking her. Coco can be damaged more easily if she is frozen by a Ratcicle's Sneeze, but this is not required. Once Coco's health bar runs empty and the subsequent cutscenes play, the mission is complete, granting passage to the Ratcicle Kingdom hub area. In the Xbox 360 and Wii versions, this will also unlock Coco as the Player 2 character in Co-op mode.

04. Find Information on Nina[]

This mission starts immediately after the previous one. Realising they need Nina's help to find Cortex, Crash and Aku Aku travel to the Ratcicle Kingdom to seek information on where to find her. On the way there, they find a Bratgirl giving orders to some NV-controlled Ratcicles, indicating that Evil Public School must be involved in Cortex's plans somehow. Upon reaching the Ratcicle Village, they talk to an elderly Ratcicle who mentions that the Bratgirls have taken over the nearby Ice Prison.

05. Travel to the Ice Prison[]

Travelling through the newly opened gate, Crash uses a Ratcicle to traverse downhill, thawing out some Magmadons frozen in ice blocks. This leads Crash across the ocean through the Frozen Coast area, from which Crash can travel north, using keys to open gates leading to the Ice Prison. Once Crash enters the Prison proper, the mission is complete.

If the player completes Story Mission 13 before doing this mission, the path to the ocean section will not be accessible, softlocking the player.

06. Find Information on Nina's School[]

Once inside the Ice Prison, Crash must traverse through it using multiple climbing walls. Once Crash reaches the Save Tiki at the other end of these walls, he will eavesdrop on a conversation with two Bratgirls, learning that Evil School is behind the gate to the north of Ratcicle Village. The mission will complete immediately after this cutscene.

07. Return to Ratcicle Kingdom[]

Continuing through the Ice Prison, Crash finds one of its prisoners, a TK. After freeing it, Crash exits the Ice Prison with it, opening up a new path to the east of the Frozen Coast. This path eventually leads back to the Ratcicle Village, the arrival to which completes the mission.

08. Return to Wumpa Island[]

Crash now needs to go north towards Evil School, but the gate is locked and requires a mutant that spins to open. One of the Ratcicle NPCs, Melvin, tells Crash that he can find one in the Wasteland area, updating the Mission List. To get there, Crash must backtrack through the path between Wumpa Island and Ratcicle Kingdom, which now has a few TKs along it. Once Crash enters the Wumpa Island hub, the mission will complete.

This mission cannot be completed before Story Missions 4-7 are completed. If the player completes Story Mission 13 early, the trigger for this mission's completion will no longer activate, rendering it unattainable.

09. Reach the Desert[]

Having returned to Wumpa Island, Crash proceeds towards the Wasteland area, via N. Gin's Observatory. A TK can now be found there, which Crash can use to knock down some columns and walk across them to reach the Coliseum. There Crash must fight some Magmadons and a Scorporilla, jacking the latter and using its attacks to destroy the floor. Once Crash reaches the bottom of the Coliseum, the mission is complete, granting access to the Wasteland proper.

10. Find Rhinoroller Village[]

Using the Scorporilla from the Coliseum, Crash traverses through the Wasteland in search of a RhinoRoller. He soon finds one, but the bridge behind him has collapsed, forcing him to travel through the rest of the Wasteland. After making one loop through a desert cavern to reach the top of a cliff, Crash enters a second cavern leading to some dunes. After collecting all three keys needed to open the gate at the other end, he reaches the RhinoRoller Village, completing the mission.

11. Defeat Spikes[]

In the RhinoRoller village, Crash talks to a RhinoRoller Mother and Cub, who inform him of a gang of Spikes wearing NVs that have been causing trouble for them. Crash proceeds to the arena at the northern exit to fight said Spikes. Upon defeating the last Spike, the mission is complete, and Crash can use the climbing wall beyond the arena to return to the Wasteland hub.

Completing this mission will unlock the Arena Minigame in the Ratcicle Kingdom.

12. Get to Nina's School[]

As a reward for dealing with their Spike problem, the RhinoRoller Mother convinces her herd to repair the bridge, allowing Crash to bring a RhinoRoller back to the Ratcicle Kingdom. RhinoRollers will also spawn along the Ratcicle Kingdom path, as well as at the Ratcicle Village. Using one to open the gate to the north, Crash proceeds towards Evil Public School, with the mission completing upon reaching the school grounds.

13. Protect Nina's School Project[]

After reaching Evil Public School, Crash must get inside to locate Nina. He uses a Titan to disable the generator powering the electric fence, then uses a Spin Switch to open the front door. After fleeing some spike pillars, Crash drops into Nina's classroom, where she insists that he defend her school project from saboteurs. Eight cannons surround her project, taking turns firing projectiles that Crash must deflect. If Nina's project takes too many hits, Crash must start over. Once the final cannon is destroyed, Nina will tell Crash and Aku Aku where they can find N. Brio, completing the mission.

Completing this mission will allow all enemies in the Junkyard and Mount Grimly areas to spawn, as well as unlock the Arena Minigame in the Wasteland.

14. Defend Wumpa[]

After returning to the Ratcicle Village, Melvin alerts Crash that his house is under attack, with Crash finding it ravaged by Spikes and Snipes when he returns. Crash follows them along the western path, turning left where the first Ratcicle was found, and fights the Spike Hero and its underlings in an arena. Once all the Spikes have been defeated, the mission is complete, and Crash will receive the Hero Key. This will teleport Crash to a locked door near the Wasteland arena, which will now unlock itself.

If the player returns to the Spike Hero's arena later on, they can jack the Spike Hero again.

15. Travel to the Junkyard[]

With the door now open, Crash can proceed to the Junkyard, where N. Brio harvests parts for the NVs. A RhinoRoller is needed to access the area, but once Crash arrives in the Junkyard hub, the mission is complete.

16. Find Crunch and N. Brio[]

Traveling through the junkyard, Crash finds some Sludges causing havok in the Sludge Village. After fighting them, two NPC Sludges will come out of hiding and tell Crash where Crunch and N. Brio can be located, completing the mission.

17. Save Crunch[]

Traveling east from the Sludge Village, Crash enters the ruins of the N. Gin Statue of Liberty, where he must fight Crunch. This fight has three phases. In the first phase, Crash must dodge the guns that shoot at him while using a TK to destroy them by throwing TNT Crates. In the second phase, Crunch will hide behind cover before jumping up and firing a missile. Crash's TK must grab Crunch when he jumps and throw him into the sawblades on either side to damage him. If Crash loses the TK in either of these phases, he must restart the battle. For the third and final phase, Crash must jack Crunch himself and use his missiles to destroy the glass surrounding the walkway at the back where N. Brio is. Once Crunch hits N. Brio himself, the battle is won and the mission is complete.

Completing this mission will unlock the Arena Minigames in both Wumpa Island and the Junkyard.

18. Travel to Mount Grimly[]

Following Crunch's defeat, the gate on the north side of the Sludge Village will open, allowing Crash to proceed along the path to Mount Grimly. The first part of the path has toxic waste on the ground, which will damage Crash and/or his current Titan if he is not riding a Sludge. Once Crash reaches the other end of the path, he will arrive in Mount Grimly's hub area, completing the mission.

19. Save Uka Uka[]

After dealing with a brief Battler encounter at the mouth of Mount Grimly, Crash comes across the mountain's namesake. Using the Grimly's power to slow down time, Crash travels through Mount Grimly, eventually reaching the summit where Uka Uka is being milked for his Bad Mojo. To free him, Crash must jack a Yuktopus and use its Mojo Blast attack to destroy all four generators. Once the last generator is destroyed, the mission is complete.

Completing this mission allows all remaining Titan Heroes to spawn, and also spawns more Scorporillas and Yuktopuses at the Coliseum and Evil Public School, respectively.

20. Collect Uka's Bones: Uka's Vengeance[]

Uka Uka agrees to help Crash if he can return his stolen Voodoo Bones. These have been given to the Grimly Hero, Snipe Hero and Magmadon Hero, which are found in newly available areas of Wumpa Island, the Wasteland and the Frozen Coast, respectively. Returning to where the first Grimly was found, Crash fends off some Stenches before using the new teleporters to travel to these locations quickly.

The Grimly Hero is fought in Grimly Manor, which can be found branching off the northern path on Wumpa Island. The Snipe Hero's lair is to the east of RhinoRoller Village. And the Magmadon Hero's lair is on a branching path from the Ice Prison. Each Titan Hero will drop its respective Bone once it and all its allies are defeated, with the Bone's collection instantly teleporting Crash back to the Mount Grimly hub. Once all three Bones have been collected, the mission is complete.

21. Return to Uka Uka[]

With all three Bones in hand, Crash must travel back to the summit of Mount Grimly and talk to Uka Uka again to complete this mission. This will unlock one more teleporter leading back to the Bandicoot House, as well as unlock the Arena Minigame in Mount Grimly.

22. Return to the Doominator[]

Upon teleporting back to Wumpa Island (or alternatively, backtracking there through the Junkyard and Wasteland), the door to the Doominator's head will open. Once Crash steps inside, the mission is complete.

23. Defeat Cortex[]

Once inside the Doominator, Crash must climb to the top and use one final teleporter to reach the Space Head. Using several coloured switches to rotate the ceiling, Crash proceeds to the Control Room for the final battle. Cortex uses N. Brio's mutation formula to transform into Mutant Cortex, immediately spinning at rapid speed and covering the arena with projectiles. Crash must use a Grimly to slow down time and drain Cortex's health bar to finish the first phase. If the Grimly dies during this phase, Crash will have to start over. Once Cortex's health bar is empty, he will become stunnable and jackable like any other Titan. Crash must use Cortex's attacks to fend off all the enemies, until a giant Spin Switch appears in the center of the arena. Using Cortex's spin to unscrew the switch reveals the Space Head's self-destruct button, which Cortex Body Slams onto, triggering the ending cutscene. Once Crash reappears in his house afterwards, the mission will officially be complete.

Optional Missions[]

There are 43 Optional Missions in the PSP version of the game, and 50 in the PS2, Xbox 360 and Wii versions. These missions are not required for story progression, but they are required for 100% Completion. Whenever an Optional Mission is completed, a pop-up message appears informing the player of the fact. 48 of the Optional Missions also have Xbox Achievements for completing them in the Xbox 360 version.
