Chick's opening statement, Crash Tag Team Racing
This just in: This chicken can drive!
Chick Gizzard Lips, or Chick for short, is a mutated reporter chicken that appears in Crash Tag Team Racing and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. Chick works with Stew, another reporter chicken, but unlike Stew, he does most of the talking during the reports.
History
Crash Tag Team Racing
Chick and Stew both help Crash Bandicoot in the tutorial section of Crash Tag Team Racing's adventure mode in Von Clutch's MotorWorld. The duo also serve as a means for Crash to unlock new vehicles for himself, with Chick being the one to give Crash the Crikey. In-game, Chick can be seen in Midway by the entrance to Happily Ever Faster.
In the introductions to various areas of the theme park, he and Stew get constantly annoyed by Willie Wumpa Cheeks.
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled
Chick and his partner Stew make a reappearance in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, in which they appear in the introduction videos of each new Grand Prix, commentating on all the exclusive items players will able to get during such a Grand Prix. Chick was introduced as a playable racer as part of the Winter Festival Grand Prix. He can be purchased from the Pit Stop for 1500 Wumpa Coins.

Chick has the dry, professional tone and delivery of a sports commentator, delivering the important information to the audience and playing the straight man to Stew's energetic enthusiasm.
Physical Appearance
Chick is a light cream feathered rooster. He has a short, dull red wattle on his head. He has blue-grey eyes, a blunt orange beak and yellow chicken legs with white claws. He has green markings on his eyelids, as well as red bags underneath. He wears a baby blue suit jacket with a shield symbol on the chest, with the letters "XYZ" emblazoned on it in red. He wears a white dress shirt underneath with a forest green bowtie, and also wears a blue-grey headset. He's usually seen carrying a grey microphone in his hand.
In Nitro-Fueled, his design has a few changes. His wattle is now a brighter shade of red, his beak and feet are the same shade of pale yellow-orange and he no longer has claws on his toes. The green and red eye markings were still present in the CTR TV cutscenes, but they were oddly removed in his in-race model. Also, the buttons on his suit are much bigger and his bowtie is darker in colour.
