Bowling Bombs are a weapon used by the racers in the racing games Crash Team Racing and Crash Nitro Kart. Unlike the home-tracking missile the Bowling Bowl rolls in a straight line until it hits a wall or another kart. Racers can even fire the Bowling Bomb backwards as a surprise attack on incoming racers. Players can manually detonate a Bowling Bomb by pressing the weapon button, a tactic that works if the Bomb just barely misses hitting the opponent's kart. Sometimes players can get 3 Bowling Bombs from a single weapon crate.
When juiced up (ie. 10 Wumpa Fruit has been collected by the player) the explosion of the Bowling Bomb becomes bigger allowing racers the opportunity to blast multiple karts with one roll.
The Bowling Bomb is the main weapon of choice for boss racer Pinstripe Potoroo in Crash Team Racing, who shoots the Bomb backwards to prevent the player from passing him. It is also used by the final boss Emperor Velo in Crash Nitro Kart.
The Bowling Bomb however made its debut in Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped as stationary floating mines. They acted as obstacles for Coco Bandicoot in the jet-ski levels of the game.in Crash twinsanity she appears in the levels n.sanity island and jungle rumble,is fired by cannons and cortex throw in his boss fight.
