It is possible to avoid the attack since they only toss the cocktails in front of Crash or Coco, leaving charred patches where the flames will be. They are also encountered in Crash Bandicoot 2: N-Tranced, and the N. Sane Trilogy remaster of the third game.
In the original game, they resemble a woman in a purple niqab. They also have a yellow belt. In N-Tranced, they are Lab Assistants that resemble the blade-throwing variant. In the remake, they also are Lab Assistants, but look more like the original variants in a ninja suit.
Arsonists are similar to the Beaker-Throwing Lab Assistants in behavior, throwing a projectile at Crash or Coco. However, unlike the aforementioned assistants, the projectile lands onto a scorch mark and creates a small wall of fire that can be jumped over if Crash or Coco is careful, or if they have the Double Jump power up.
They can be disposed of easily using the Fruit Bazooka. They can also be spun, although that is a risky tactic to use on most of them, due to the chasm between them and the path. In N-Tranced, Crash can also defeat them by jumping on them.
